Chill the Eggs and Milk: Make sure to use eggs and milk that have been thoroughly chilled in the refrigerator. If they are not cold enough, the cake may not rise properly and the inside may not bake evenly.
Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
Prepare the Cake Pan: Line the cake pan with parchment paper, or grease the pan with butter and dust it evenly with cake flour, then tap out the excess flour.
1. Mix the Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the sponge cake mix and the cold ingredients (A). Whisk until the mixture becomes thick and pale.
2. Pour and Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Tap the pan lightly 2-3 times on the counter to remove any air bubbles and ensure the batter is evenly distributed. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for 40-45 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on your oven, so keep an eye on it.
3. Release Steam and Cool
Once baked, drop the pan onto a flat surface to release steam, then invert the cake onto a cooling rack. Remove the pan and let the cake cool completely.
4. Decorate
Once the cake has cooled completely, decorate it with whipped cream, fruits, or any toppings of your choice.
If the batter isn't whipping up properly**, place the entire bowl in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to chill, then try whipping again. Alternatively, you can whip the batter with the bowl placed over a bowl of ice water.
